The region’s newest Community Recycling Centre (CRC) is open at Mudgee! The Member for Dubbo, Troy Grant MP, opened the new facility where local residents can now drop off any awkward household items including old paint, gas bottles, motor oils, fluoro lights, fire extinguishers, smoke detectors and batteries. He congratulated the work of NetWaste, the EPA and Mid Western Regional Council to get the CRC operating.
It’s free to drop off these items and everything is really clearly marked at the centre. The waste items will then be safely disposed of or recycled. For example the lead, acid and plastic in lead acid batteries are recovered and recycled, keeping these materials out of our landfill.
The CRC is located at the Mudgee Waste Facility. For more information on opening hours visit Mid-Western Regional Council
