Household Chemical Waste Collection Program

The Household Chemical Waste Collection Program is a joint initiative between NetWaste, NetWaste member Councils and Department of Environment and Climate Change (DECC). The purpose of the program is to recover hazardous chemical waste from households, including cleaning agents, paints, batteries, fire extinguishers, gas bottles and pesticides.
Once a year, residents within the participating Councils were invited to bring their unwanted household chemicals to a specified location for disposal. NetWaste is currently undertaking a study for the location of permanent collection facilities within the region to provide a continuous disposal service for residents.
