Business Waste
As outlined above, in conjunction with NetWaste Blayney, Cabonne, Forbes, Orange and Parkes Councils have entered a new era in waste management with the introduction of an improved kerbside recycling service from December 2005.
With a view to building on the success of the Joint Recycling Contract NetWaste has now moved into a new phase with the education focus and are working with businesses in the sub-region who are interested in improving their waste management processes.
Pilot Program
- Each of the five councils within the sub-region were asked to nominate several businesses from within their shire that would be interested in being involved in a Pilot Program. The businesses were of varying sizes.
- Initial visit to business - a walk through of premises and visual audit to identify waste streams and any existing waste strategies.
- Development of Action Plans for each business.
- Follow up visit and discussion regarding any suggested actions.
- Implementation.
- Evaluation and development of case studies.
