Household Chemical Cleanout - find out what’s happening in your area
The Household Chemical Cleanout is about to be held throughout the central west region, with fourteen (14) Councils partnering with NetWaste and Chemsal to offer a safe and easy disposal service to residents for unwanted or out-of-date household chemicals. The program is also being held with significant support from the NSW Office of Environment and Heritage (OEH).
Household chemicals that are eligible for collection include items such as pesticides, paint, garden chemicals, solvents, house chemicals, smoke detectors, fluorescent light tubes, household batteries, old gas bottles, and fire extinguishers. Councils typically don't accept these items on an ongoing basis.
This service is for local residents with domestic quantities of household hazardous chemicals only, with the first 20kg/litres able to be disposed free of charge. For local businesses who wish to utilise the services of the licensed Contractor at their own cost while they are in the region, please contact Chemsal directly on 0409 938 553 prior to the collection day.
Residents are encouraged to contact their local Council to find out when collections are happening in their area or for full details click here. Particular care should be taken to ensure all chemicals are transported safely to the Collection Centre.
